Hi piclist.

I'd like to electrically propel a hand driven cart and need some way for
the operator to set the speed. I'm hoping for some type of thumb activated
lever that could be mounted to a cross bar. (I'm thinking like the gear
levers on some pushbikes, but need not be.) It could either be a multi-step
switch (for, say, slow, medium and fast) or preferably a 1/4 turn pot or
similar which gives full control across the range. When let go it should
spring return back to zero.

Maybe someone knows the name of what I'm looking for? I'm hoping for
something off-the-shelf.
