Hi, Can someone help me with the following task? I need to get a timecode signa= l (in LTC format) from a consumer DVD player. Basically I need the time (and probably frame count) that is being displaye= d on the LCD panel of the player during the playback to be output as an LTC signal for some further processing by the customer. What would be the simplest way to achieve that? First of all, I don't quite understand where from does the player get all this information in the first place: is time encoded in the audio/video channels of the DVD, or does the player calculate time based on the frame count, or what? One brute way to get those data, I can think of, is to "sniff" the talk between the main video processor and the LCD controller, but I have no idea about the way they talk to each other. Finally, are all DVD players made more or less the same (in terms of the discussed matters) or should I look at any specific make/model to get thing= s simpler? --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
