Thanks for the link, I had missed it, but, yes I have done what they=20 suggest. From another message about the contacts bouncing. The generator (27hp=20 gasoline engine, cog belt drive, and 12.5KW generator are mounted via.=20 vibration isolators to a concrete pad. The gasoline tank is mounted to=20 an angle iron frame to the concrete above the generator. Could be a=20 slight amount of vibration, and then I thought about magnetic fields=20 from the generator, but there nearly always is at least 6" of gasoline=20 between the switches and the generator. The switches are directly above=20 the drive end bearing of the generator. I'll be installing the new switches in an hour. Unless someone has=20 something earth shaking, I thank everyone for their input, and consider=20 the thread closed. :) :) On 10/16/13 9:31 PM, RussellMc wrote: > Here's a link to the switches: > > http://ecatalog.gemssensors.com/ecatalog/singlepoint-level/en/165570 > > Carl - They provide the following, which you may have seen. > Odds are you are not doing anything contrary to what it recommends here. > > Reed Switch Protection - Bulletin No. 133702 > http://www.gemssensors.com/~/media/GemsNA/InstructionBulletins/133702-m.a= shx > > _______________________ > > If you have surplus dead/old switches then trialing one with a Hall senso= r > fitted in place of the reed should take little effort. > > > > Russell --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
