Hi Lindy, Normally the banana sockets on these power supplies unscrew and you can trap some wires on them if you don't want to get the banana plugs. And than you can connect it to your breadboard. On your demo board the headers are a very good idea. You are having a very common problem, I have this kind of problem all the time and I within reason can get pretty much anything I need at work, I always find that I am missing something... and it really is a pain. Just keep going, when you get something going it is a great feeling.
