Yeah 808 cameras are great bang-for-buck, just do some research beforehand as there are dozens of versions, some much better than others. I know that some have hacked the timing etc to make time-lapse, eg. http://quinndunki.com/blondihacks/?p=3D925 could also theoretically be hacked so multiple cameras use the same timing trigger; el-cheapo bullet-time, anyone? Probably also want a larger external power source.
