Code completion works as expected. OS doesn't make a difference. Netbeans
is Java based and has always worked consistently across all platforms for
me.

You need to hit Ctrl-Space to force a completion, but it should also pop up
suggestions on its own. Try closing it and deleting your Netbeans user
profile directory so it creates a fresh one on the next launch.
