You're right - It's pricey stuff. I have no doubt you can do it better & cheaper - Whether I can is another matter... :) That Digikey has them in stock does'nt hurt either. My rationale for LiFePO4 is cycle life, not mass. The lower cell voltage of NiMH means a lot more cells to manage, so why NiMH?
