That's exceeding kind of you.

Just putting the electronic feelers out as it's the weekend - why does
"stuff" always happen on a Friday ? - and there might be locals I
could ask it wasn't, although I can't say for sure whether I'd have
any luck anyway.

Mostly the reason is to upgrade one of Olin's USBProgs to his
latest release. I'm having a real problem with some 18F43K20
I bought from Microchip Direct.

They will program once and once only. Olin doesn't have any, and
neither does Microchip Support (eh, why not ?), but they don't have
one of Olin's programmers either

Olin can program a 46K20 though, as can MS with an ICD3

All the ones I bought are Revision 0, which looks awfully buggy
to me in the errata. Unfortunately a few I desperately sampled last
week are also Revision 0 so I still can't eliminate anything

If they don't work with an ICD3 then they can go back to Microchip
or in the bin if Microchip won't take them without much hoop-jumping

If they do work with an ICD3, I might try and swap or sell them as
I've no intention of buying another programmer (an ICD3 or whatever)
for just one device, as the USBProg is perfectly good for all the PICs
I generally use, together with the LProg and PS+

So your kindness may be rewarded
