The transformer cores I have aren't exactly the same (but very close).
Either way, I only want to use at most one transformer for this purpose.

I'm going to try welding it. If that fails, I already know clamping it
with something already works.

And Jim is right about the noise. When unclamped, or clamped even
lightly, there's an extremely loud 60Hz noise when the transformer is
on.
