I'm surprised that more consumer products don't just include a web server instead of selling more remote control hardware or applications that only support a particular operating system. Web GUI's are not quite as pretty, but they're getting close. I just did a graphic equalizer using HTML5 range elements. Using the onchange attribute, I do an http post whenever something is changed.
