I have decided my winter project is to install some solar powered LED lights in my hot house so I can start growing my tomatoes earlier this year. I have the lights already and they draw about 250mA. For the battery I am thinking of using a 7Ah, 12V SLA - something like this: http://www.rockby.com.au/catresults.cfm?imageField2.x=3D0&imageField2.y=3D0= &stock_no=3D38696 I am looking for some suggestions re charger and panels. I would like to look at some 20W panels - starting with 1 or 2 (increasing the number as I come up with other ideas). The panels will be mounted on a tin roof shed adjoining the hot house. The intent is not to just buy a solution and get someone to install, but to do some of it myself and learn a bit along the way. I am in Melbourne, Australia (in case anyone knows of some options in this particular location). --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
