I just received my first PIC24FV32KA301 (20 pin DIP) today and I can't seem
to get it programmed with my pickit 3. My pickit is connected to:

MCLR -> pin 1
Vdd -> pin 20
Vss -> pin 19
DAT -> pin 4
CLK -> pin 5
LVP -> none

I also have a 10uF cap between pin 14 and ground


But when I fire up pickit programmer application, it can't detect the
device. I try to manually select the device, and it's not even listed in
the dropdown list.

I downloaded the latest "PICkit3 Programmer Application and Scripting Tool
v3.10" from
http://www.microchip.com/stellent/idcplg?IdcService=3DSS_GET_PAGE&nodeId=3D=
1406&dDocName=3Den538340&redirects=3Dpickit3

and updated the lastest PICkit3 OS, but it's still not there. What am I
doing wrong?
