Best to stick with the cheaper and safer SLB. Charging circuitry can fail, and it is not uncommon. When it fails, it shall take down the power IGBTs, big capacitors, many banks of batteries all at one go. We have just savaged a APC UPS that took down 240pcs of 7AH SLB, and the other 240SLB (almost 10 years old) can be savaged through reconditioning to 70-80% of its capacity. And many times, the under-staffed and under-trained operation leave the UPS connected during electrical "earthing" test which happen rare enough for people to forget to unplug their equipment from the main.
