Solder can be had in a wide range of melting points, and above that you can start in on brazing. While I've not tried it, a DIY spot welder may be "easy enough" to do for this task. In the absence of enough thousands of uF (or 1/1000th as nany mF if you are Olin) then a car battery is liable to be useful. Could be fun trying :-). May deep end on how much you value the pot :-). It just occurred to me that it *MAY* be possible to produce a temperature controlled spot welder that used eg a car battery as source and thermal feedback for control. Presumably essentially on/off switching and "hot enough"* completion. Russell * The dangers of slang: I used an idiomatic expression for 'hot enough' but a quick web search showed that the meaning I had heard for it (ready to go / raring to go / ...) was #2 on some lists and not shown at all on others. #1 was not what I intended :-(. --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
