I bought my unlocked Mifi unit from Amazon, it seems that there are a numbe=
r of resellers here in the UK who buy direct from Huawei so the units never=
 go through the link providers hands to get locked.

I haven't had occasion to try it yet, it was bought for a trip to Europe, b=
ut language difficulties meant I didn't get a data sim for it, so didn't ge=
t to try it.
