Hi, There are various techniques to measure the glucose level like EM sensing or chemical sensing. I am not aware of any plug-n-play sensors that directly interfaces via I2C,SPI or so on but you can design your own sensor as well. If your product will be massive production this will definitely save you some bucks. For EM detection main principle of this type of measurement relies on the change in the reflectance parameters of the medium due to different glucose concentration levels, roughly.
