My limited experience with PICs and 4-20mA is to have a 250R
(Vcc =3D 5V) or 256R (Vcc =3D 5.12V) on the ADC input, to produce
5V and 5.12V respectively FSD voltages (via V=3D IR)

It's all proportional of course. You could make a 2-10mA transmitter
and double the size of the resistor

Two transmitters I remember off-hand were a PT100 thermocouple
with V+ =3D 12V and a level sensor with V+ =3D 10V
