Please pardon this blatant self promotion, but I value the collective wisdom of this list. I have started my first ever Blog and I hope that will be of use to anyone getting started with the PIC32MX chips, in particular Students and Hobbyists. I personally think that the PIC32MX is a great platform to start on and the availability of SPDIP packages makes them accessible to people of all skill levels. Most of that category seem to be more interested in Arduino, so I have taken the approach of easing them into the delights of the PIC32MX by using the ChipKIT bootloader and MPIDE, but looking under the skin and concentrating on what the PIC32MX can do that the Arduino can not. The Posts so far are: ChipKIT BB32 - Where I show how to build a ChipKit on a breadboard, it is the hardware platform that I will use for the experiments. Peripheral Pin Select (PPS) - an introduction to PPS, what and why and todays post is: PPS Continued and a Plunge Into the Dark Art of Re... - where I give a practical example of PPS and introduce direct register access to output different reference clocks. The topics will be some what esoteric, mainly because I am, but also to keep the Blog fresh and different from all the Arduino Tutorials out there. As I am new to Blogging and am largely documenting my own experiments with the PIC32, I could really do with any feedback, Positive or Negative, that can help get the message out to the masses. Once again, apologies if this comes across as self promotion or advertising, but I really would value any advice.
