I've just caught this thread on the hop, but a general rule with both=20 balances and scales is, they, even the electronic ones, differ according to= =20 temperature, one reason why in some countries food shops are supposed to=20 tare scales at least twice day (morning/afternoon) using approved weights.= =20 Whilst balances designed for medical/laboratory work have temperature=20 compensation built into them when taring they can still drift and require=20 periodic maintenance or checking against physical approved weights. Scales are not on the whole designed to be as accurate at low weights,=20 which balances are. One of the reasons why balances are horrendously more=20 expensive to buy than scales.
