I just changed the battery and the mA range fuse in what looked to be a typical mass market Asian meter.Larger and more bells and whistles than some but probably under $50. It had two fuses which I assumed to be in series. I just realised now that I may be wrong and its possible it was fused on the high amps range - which would be unusual. One fuse was large and ceramic HRC. The other typical small & glass. If in series on the mA range this would allow the small cheap fuse to be rated to blow at moderate overload while the dearer HRC is rated at say 10 x higher current and usually stands silent guard until the day when the potentially fatal 500A arc comes. If this is what thy have done it seems an excellent idea. WIll check.
