When I have a fixed idea about the PCB size and=20 the components on them, and the autorouter (I use eagle) can connect=20 them, then why not use the result? I certainly can't do it faster! In some sense this is the same discussion as compiler versus hand-coded=20 assembly. I can write better assembly than the compiler can, but it will=20 take me a very long time. In nearly all cases that is not economical.
