There are VERY minor differences betw= een them but none hold the advantage. If video is paramount then the T5i MIGHT be the better option. If you plan = to use AF during video then definitely go for the STM. The 18-135 STM is SI= LENT when focusing, I put my ear to the barrel and can't hear anything. OTO= H, I find that focusing hunts too much, I just focus manually when doing vi= deo, much better results IMHO.
