Don't carry batteries in your pocket :-)

On several getting-more-distant-past occasions I have found that 4 x AA
NimH + misc keys and coins can form and maintain  a surprisingly good
electrical circuit. Sufficiently low R that most of the dissipated-as-heat
energy occurs in the batteries. Pocket gets very very very ... hot. Such
batteries, when ejected with extreme prejudice, are far above handling
temperature. Significant burns could occur.
A 2500 mAh NimH cell delivers about 10 Horsepower-seconds of energy at
rated current. Even if you get 10% of that as heat in 'crash discharge'
mode "you know something is happening".
