And I'm happy to hear I'm not the only one who finds the project files of
8.x to be relocation-hostile.   If only we could export something that it
could then import, it could be useful.  8.x does use relative paths here
and there, but certainly not everywhere.

But your mention of the Mac makes me realize I have a spare computer I
could try X on it without having to load it on my development machine.  If
it can still run on Leopard.

Well, if you *have* the source code, after all, you should be able to do
make it do anything you want!
