100 kbps is only a 5.25" floppy diskette full per hour.
Change diskettes hourly and he'll be fine :-).
Hey, the data rate may even be high enough with care :-).
(Write rate on-track is OK. It's the track to track stepping that may
kill you. )

Or 3 weeks continuous on an 8 GB SD.
