when I saw your first comment, which happened to be the very first
comment after the original post, I was concerned that the thread would
go off into a more "controversial" direction than I had intended.

And on reading your most recent post, I was struck with an idea! (yes, it h=
urt)

Perhaps I could sell my time to others who could make good use of an
english speaking proofreader. While my prowess with the fine details
of punctuation might not be 100%, I am overall familiar and conversant
in the language.

You are absolutely correct that mistakes in grammar and spelling can
ruin an otherwise good first impression. I believe I'll look for an
existing market and see if it is something I might be able to do.

And just in case, I am aware that many on this list have a "first
language" other than english, and I respect your ability to work with
us in a less familiar language.
