Yes, the DS3231 is a good idea, and was in the first version of the PCB,=20 but the GPS time service seems to be getting so popular that someone in=20 authority might have agreed to keep the time service going in wartime,=20 and I missed it, and so its popularity increased. With the DS3231, updates could occur as infrequently as once every 6=20 months and it would be enough. But in areas where the sun is strong,=20 temperature of the cabinet cannot be kept cool, and some time drift is=20 expected.
