I'll try to ask my question here, while solder paste is on topic. I have no real experience with solder paste, but I'm planning to start using more. I've got hands on some old (around 1990) medical equipment that contains x-y-z mechanics, pumps, mechanically steered syringes and what not. One of possible uses came to mind - probably this can be built to dispense solder paste, using existing syringes and needles, just putting a tiny drops of paste on pads. Pastes I have seen were quite thick, are there more liquid ones existing, that could be applied without huge force? Would this even work at all, putting just a small drop of paste, instead of covering whole pad? Existing hardware should be capable of putting really small quantities. Needles are small, and plastic tubing has internal dia of about 1mm. I'm not talking about industrial use. --=20 KPL --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
