I don't need 3G access, just GPRS.
Bluetooth is not a good option because it is one more module to add to
the board (price-wise) and because the cell phone will be inside the
equipment's case (why to emit radiation and be susceptible to
interference without necessity?).

That leaves USB. The only problem is that most cell-phones require the
installation of a software dialer in the computer and in my case it will
be a microcontroller.
Does exist some cell-phone that supply a simple interface via USB, like
to old ones with a serial port?
