I have the Acer IconiaTab A210 (running Android 4.1) which has a
USB Host port which works with the Microchip USB Device
Examples quite well. Microchip provides the host app as well
and you can download the host app from Google Play.

The host port should also work with some USB to serial
adapter (eg: CDC-ACM or FTDI based) but I have not
tried them.
