Any Portable Computer [tm] maker is aware that a keyboard has very powerful capabilities that are not yet close to being replaceable by a screen entry only device. BUT their marketing may look it appear that that is what they are trying to do short term. Marketing is about profit, not actuality. Looking at Apple's profitability, coming from a standing start within living memory, where they only survived because Bill Gates baled them out, their movement does not appear to be utterly stupid - even after you allow for the fact that profitability and stupidity are not opposites. What I'd like to know (presumably a matter of public record) is what % of Apple is currently held by Bill Gates or equivalent (ie Microsoft or whoever).
