It is said that Microsoft sold all their Apple holdings. They bought
18.2E6 shares at an average cost of about $8 each, for about $150E6.

Even with today's reduced AAPL share valuation, that would have
been worth $7.7bn, roughly a fifty-bagger.

What, if any, Gates himself may own personally through trusts etc.
is probably not public knowledge.
