The VPP/MCLR, VDD, VSS, PGD, and PGC pins are connected. The VPP, PGD, and PGC pins aren't connected to anything else other than their respective microcontroller pins, and they're all high-Z inputs so I'm guessing they should be isolated CMOS inputs? Practically, I have a strong feeling they're not isolated inputs. Or am I mixing up isolation with MOSFET insulated gates? Could it be possible that a high voltage signal introduced on the VPP line during programming somehow propagates through the microcontroller? Or some other transient signal coming through the REAL ICE VDD/VSS line? Shouldn't the REAL ICE be protected/protecting against this kind of stuff? --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
