Vicent, I decided based on some good advice from a helpful soul. I was told that while mikroE has its place in the world it's not the path someone should take if they are considering going into production or if you're looking for wide support. This was confirmed while I was trying to look for a good FAT32 library for mikroC. The learning curve can be much greater with MPLAB and XC than with mikroC, but in the end I have been assured I will be in a better place. That said, I have stumbled into some issues with XC. It's still relatively new, and therefore there's just not a whole lot of good 3rd-party documentation out there on it yet. XC8 is based on HiTechC, and XC16 is based on C30. If you're already very versed in C programming for PICs then it's probably not much of an issue to learn the differences and implement the changes, but if you're starting out it's a bit of a struggle. As for what Jim said, I have not ignored the official forums, I'm using all possible sources to get answers. This forum is not necessarily the best place to find answers. In the few days I've been back to the piclist (I used to be a regular about 7 years ago) I've experienced more elitism and generally unhelpful responses than not. If you're new to microcontrollers or electronics engineering then this may not be the most friendly forum to ask your questions, at least that's been my experience, though there are a few really helpful members which makes it worth wading through the rest. -- Sincerely, James Burkart *Filmmaker & Documentarian* *Burkart Studios* 800.396.0227 | Phone 925.226.4910 | Fax *Web:* burkartstudios.com *Blog:* burkartstudios.com/blog *Twitter:* twitter.com/burkartstudios *Facebook:* facebook.com/burkartstudios On Thu, Mar 21, 2013 at 6:13 PM, Vicent Colomar Prats < vicentecolomar@gmail.com> wrote: > Hi, James. > > I'm in the same proces you are.
