I am mainly speaking of local law enforcement drones (i.e. not= stealthy military type). Not sure of FAA rules concerning drone requirements for a transponder, but = there is already technology to pickup and detect aircraft transponder trans= missions. This could "potentially" used to detect drone activity. What frequency range do drones operate at? I imagine it is in the GHz range= and LOS. Could RF detection indicate drone activity? Could you detect a certain sound signature of low-flying stationary drones?= Assuming of course they are not at 10,000 feet. What other ways could be used to indicate drone activity?
