I gave up and started using GoPros for cars. They are mechanically very sim= ple and have no moving parts. Forget using anything with a zoom lens in a c= ar. There is always some resonant frequency that you can't easily damp and = you will get blurry spots. The GoPros are so cheesy they work perfectly. Don't have any of the new models. They do seem to have better quality video= and they finally improved the lens. My old HD and HD2 don't have very impr= essive picture quality. My Canon point'n'shoot in video mode looks better, = but not when clamped to a race car.
