Just to be clear I'm not anti Microchip as a company, I think it's one of the best company which looks after their clients as far as obsolescence. I use several of their products apart from their controllers. As mentioned before my experience with the AVR version of the mikroE compil= er wasn't great, the resulting code was not the best as far as size or speed, they seem to use their own version of C, but then so do some others. Their boards however seems to be excellent for learners and experimenters, I never needed any myself as I can develop my own boards. Now that I think of it maybe I'm somewhat anti C.... :-) >What are your reasons? Any reason given, for or against, would just end up in the usual PIC=20 vs the world war. On a, I hope, helpful note I can point you to a SD card library=20 widely used by many in case you are not aware of it http://elm-chan.org/fsw_e.html look=20 at the FatFs (full SD card support) and Petit FatFs (a reduced size version),=20 there is an example on how to use it with a PIC24. Don't know if it will compile with the mikroE compiler but it should with o= ther "standard" C compilers.
