I reinstalled MPLAB X to eliminate the possibility of missing files, but still no success. But since the MPLAB X stack is written in Java anyway, I can reverse engineer the interface and write my own tool if it really comes down to it. Hate to go through the hassle though. I wonder if they published the source code to the REAL ICE interface. Also, the REAL ICE is attached to a headless Linux box, so I'd need a way to use it via a command line.
