We use sonicwall its a hardware VPN access point that works through mobile using the sonicwall application to a bluetooth module. so likley it would work as a secure tunnel to a remote serial port. It also works as a licence server for Orcad server in Clevedon (UK) and i was using it on a laptop in Dubai.
