You can buy "used" GPS modules on Ebay for as little=20 as $19.94 USD (ebay# 330817769260). I have purchased 4 different ones, and they all presented NMEA data=20 perfectly. Course, I only use TIME/DATE, nothing else, so as little as just one operating bird is fine for my needs. These modules on Ebay were removed from earlier, less smart=20 products, but they have built-in antennas and most have internal rechargeable batteries. Most handle a maximum of 12 birds=20 only. Costs a fraction of newer modules. Most send TTL-level RS232 serial output in 7-bit odd parity 4800 baud only. I=20 stick the module, antenna up, into a small waterproof box, then supply 5V in, and Serial TTL out. The data is normally=20 inverted from rs232 serial, as it is designed to drive a MAX232 rs232 line. --Bob A --=20 The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary.
