There is quite a lot of energy there - it has the potential to throw shards a long way. I'm told (but have never been unfortunate enough to find out, so far) that the phosphor does not do wounds any good. May be a make-up, or 'recovered memory' on my part. "Letting the vacuum out" can be great fun if you like that sort of thing BUT, as Joe says, cover well. A good solid blow that guarantees fracture where and when you want it is in order. In places the glass on a large tune (29" ish) is immensely thick - 30mm+ in places and takes some breaking if hit in a thick spot.
