Hi, I have been trying to wind a high frequency transformer running at approximately 100kHz, in a push pull configuration with a square wave of about 25% duty cycle in a step up configuration. I have a battery voltage of 12Vdc to the transformer. The wire gauge table here http://www.powerstream.com/Wire_Size.htm states that 30AWG can handle: Maximum amps for chassis wiring=3D0.86A Maximum amps for power transmission=3D0.142 what is the reference to chassis wiring and power transmission regarding a transformer ? How can I estimate the wire gauge for my transformer ? I have been looking at using multiple wires in parallel as in a litz wire for the transformer. Looking here: http://www.litz-wire.com/New%20PDFs/Litz_Designing_Calculations.pdf it states that 50 KHZ-100 KHZ 38 AWG is required for the maximum penetration. I am now a bit confused as to which document is correct. Can anyone clarify ?
