The readme file installed with the MPLAB documentation will tell you the ne=
cessary. IIRC an ICD2 will do most of the PICs, it is just somewhat slower =
than an ICD3 as it runs at only 12MB/s on the USB, and it doesn't do some o=
f the fancy trace things with the larger/newer chips. This is all detailed =
in the readme.

Looks like it is not, there is no ICD2 readme in my MPLAB-X 1.60 install. T=
he MPLAB 8.89 install does have an ICD2 directory with firmware downloads a=
nd readmes in another directory.
