BUT almost certainly that just shows that I'm blind to things that may incite others. If ANYONE found ANY of what John said was annoying or offensive I'd be very pleased to know - because it would help me gain perspective on what others see and think and feel. Possibly, anyway :-). Bob & John don't always see eye to eye, but I'd have thought that Bob would be in general agreement with what John just wrote. If not, please educate me in what I've just missed. Re a terrible job by our standards being the best job in town for some.- I spent a week in a Chinese factory run by an American where conditions were "very far from ideal". Work hours were 365 days a year (except on leap years) x 10 hours/day. Lunch was provided. Monthly income was about $US100 or $100/30 days / 10 hours =3D $US0.33 / hour. It was THE best employment opportunity in the area. People as good as queued to get a job there. Very instructive. Very sobering.
