particularly cheap (though I
got a real Apple iPad (12W) charger for only $19 direct from Amazon.

Many of the counterfeits are criminally bad- unsafe at any voltage.=20
Poor noise performance
etc. etc. I bought one of the $2 ones (died shortly after I got it=20
due to a bad solder
joint). I was shocked (figuratively only, fortunately) to see what was insi=
de.
Only a fool would trust their safety to one of these lumps of crap formed f=
rom
Shenzhen street sweepings.
