Hi there, There was an excellent GSM module available from dx.com http://dx.com/p/usb-tri-band-gprs-modem-cell-phone-radio-gsm-900-1800-1900m= hz-12057 One could unsolder PL2303 from it, and connect a PIC to respective RX and TX pads and use it to send/receive sms, or whatever. But now it seems discontinued. Anybody is aware of anything that could replace it, in same price range? The only one alternative I see is this http://dx.com/p/efcom-pro-wireless-850-900-1800-1900mhz-gprs-gsm-module-w-a= ntenna-white-173749, but it's bigger and more expensive. I feel really sad that I ordered only one of those small modems, when those were still available. Since it is for a remotely located device, at least two are required, so the prototype can be developed/debugged further at home, while remote device is already doing it's task. --=20 KPL --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
