I have noticed that years of long days in data centers has injured my abili= ty to hear sound in the frequency range that server fans run at - which coincidentally= is also near the range for many female voices :) Another co-worker and I were talking about the fact that in a crowd we find= it difficult to hear what females are saying (our wives) but could hear each o= ther's male voices comfortably.
