Ok, I've had an idea, but I don't think it will work. I've been looking at PSoC families, and there is one that has an additional group of analog blogs that can be configured as single slope ADCs. I would guess that these would be too slow to detect overall excessive analog audio, correct? My thought was to route each input through the mixing matrix, but also to an ADC. If the level exceeds some measurement the device would automatically duck down the gain on the mixer. I think the speed of the ADC would mean that this isn't possible, but I'd love a double check. Thoughts?
