I'm wondering if any Piclisters in OZ,NZ, know where I might be able to=20 purchase a speciality power point. I am looking for two Clipsal ML2015/15VI - these are 15A power points with= =20 an inbuilt RCD. Clipsal list these as medical electrical equipment and the= =20 usual electrical wholesalers don't seem to stock them or won't answer my=20 questions as I'm not an electrician (Electrics is basically a closed shop=20 business in Aus), and as I no longer work with medical equipment, I don't=20 have the hospital contacts I once had. I'm specifically looking for these as I'm revamping my kitchen and=20 bathroom, and hope to install point of dispense water heaters (as seen in=20 China, which happens to be where mine came from), these are basically a tap= =20 with a water heater inside and partly because I don't trust manufacturing=20 quality and partly because they are not electrically certified for use in=20 Australia, my safety fall back is an RCD at the power point - water and=20 electrickery (sic) mixing and all that. I have PAT tested it and it passed,= =20 but of course it wasn't connected to water at the time. I'm happy to buy 4 if there is a minimum quantity, I believe they are=20 around AUS$38.00 each plus GST. For enquiring minds, I am convinced (calcs on back of envelopes) that only= =20 heating water when it is required is much much cheaper to run (and wastes=20 less water) than immersion heaters or solar hot water, unless of course=20 people need baths or bulk hot water available, which I don't (being=20 British, I only wash once a year, and then, only if it is raining)**. Colin ** thought I'd preempt the standard joke - it gets tiring after a while. -- cdb, on 9/01/2013 --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
