Hi Mark, It does seem to be going that way. I liked the idea of a DSP because it's reconfigurable via software only. However, I think it might be a bit much to bite off on my first go. I'm going to keep looking into it, but I might not end up going that way. If anyone has any examples of projects that do mixing and switching (even parallel applications, like home theatre, etc), I'd love to see 'em!
